The 2025 season was not what the Dolphins expected, as they failed to make the playoffs and finished 7-10. With that unexpected finish, the Dolphins are now making some changes this offseason, starting with hiring Jon-Eric Sullivan as their new general manager, the former Vice President of Player Personnel for the Green Bay Packers, and then hiring former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their new head coach, replacing Mike McDaniel. But along with changes in the front office and coaching staff, there were expected changes to the team’s personnel. While the question still surrounds the Dolphins when it comes to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins did make some moves on the personnel front. The Dolphins released four players on Monday, including edge rusher Bradley Chubb and wide receiver Tyreek Hill. With the release of Chubb and Hill, both are now on the free agent market. And while some think Hill and Chubb could add to the Titans, only one could be the best fit.
Hill has had an incredible career with the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins. He has had six 1,000-yard seasons over his career, along with seven seasons of seven or more touchdown receptions. His speed can cause problems for any defense. But with the season he just came off, there is concern. First, Hill tore his ACL, among other ligaments in his knee, while dislocating his kneecap. That injury happened at the end of September last season. With that injury taking 9-12 months or more to recover from, there is no guarantee that Hill will be able to get back to the unreal speed he had before. If the Titans are to spend money this offseason to add a wide receiver, they need to add one who can grow with Cam Ward, not one who is entering the end stages of his career.
As far as Bradley Chubb, when the Dolphins traded for him, they expected a dominant pass rusher. Over his two-plus years in Miami, Chubb collected 22 sacks in leading the Dolphins’ pass rush, including 8.5 sacks in 2025 after tearing his ACL and missing the 2024 season. With Robert Saleh’s defense predicated on needing pass rushers to create havoc, Chubb would fit in perfectly off the edge for Tennessee.  Last season, the Titans did not have an edge rusher with more than 6 sacks. Adding Chubb would not only add more punch but would also add someone who could take some attention off defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, who had a career-high eleven sacks last season. Chubb does not solve all the Titans’ defensive issues, with them still needing cornerback help, but it will help them at a position of need.  And also, the Titans have cap space to pay Chubb what he may be looking for.
Chubb and Hill are both going to get attention on the free-agent market, but for the Titans, only one of them fits what they need, and that is Bradley Chubb.
