KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – There’s at least one prominent member of the Kansas City Chiefs who hopes Monday’s big NFL transaction is paving the way for Tyreek Hill’s return to Kansas City.
On Monday, the Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Tyreek Hill following four seasons with the organization and a career-threatening injury.
Hill, who played just four games in 2025, has at least one Kansas City Chiefs star calling for him to return to his old team via free agency.
“It’s (time),” Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones tweeted in a post tagging Hill on X.
Hill was traded by the Chiefs to the Dolphins following the 2021 season after he and his agent failed to come to terms with the Chiefs on a contract extension, opting for Miami where the Dolphins gave him a four-year, $120 million deal with $72.2 million guaranteed.

In Miami, Hill was a two-time AP All-Pro, setting a career-high in receiving yards in 2023 with 1,799 in a season.
Hill took to Instagram on Monday and vowed to play again despite a major leg injury that resulted in tears to multiple ligaments in his leg.
The former sixth-round pick of the Chiefs turns 32 in March.
