Bleacher Report released its list of the 99 greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and five players with strong Baltimore ties made the cut. Johnny Unitas, the legendary former Baltimore Colts star, ranked highest among them at No. 11. Vinny Testaverde, the first quarterback in Baltimore Ravens history, came in at No. 73. Joe Flacco, who led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory, was ranked No. 53, and Steve McNair, who finished his career with the Ravens, placed No. 45.
Current Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the highest-ranked of the group at No. 28.

The list includes quarterbacks from multiple eras, and Baltimore is represented on both the Colts and Ravens sides of NFL history. Unitas is one of the most iconic quarterbacks the league has ever seen and helped define the position during his time in Baltimore. Meanwhile, the Ravens’ representation shows how much the franchise has leaned on strong quarterback play over the last two decades, especially with Flacco and Jackson leading the team to consistent success.
It’s also interesting to see how the rankings stack up when comparing different eras and playing styles. Whether it’s Unitas setting the standard, Flacco delivering the greatest postseason run in franchise history, McNair giving Baltimore one of its most memorable seasons, or Lamar continuing to rewrite the record books, the city has had its share of quarterbacks who have left a lasting mark on the NFL. With Jackson still in his prime, Baltimore’s place on lists like this may not be finished yet.
