HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — New details reveal the location for the proposed Toro District that would serve as the Houston Texans’ headquarters and practice facility.
According to a map from ABC13 sources, the 83-acre facility will be built in the Heart of the Bridgeland Town Center in northwest Harris County.
Harris County is partnering with the Texans on the relocation project.
The total cost for taxpayers has not been disclosed, but if all goes as planned, the new headquarters would open in 2029.
It was announced that Harris County commissioners approved a memorandum during commissioners’ court of understanding with the Houston Texans and the developer for a new facility that would be built.
Commissioners stated that some of the funds will come from the special tax district, which collects property taxes in the area for future projects.
The Texans said the project will include a 22-acre headquarters and training facility for the team. The Texans claim the district will generate $34 billion in long-term economic impact and create 17,000 jobs across the region.
