In the coming days, I’ll be doing brief synopses for each NFL team regarding their current cap situation and offseason approach they should take.

We’ll start with the teams that have the most cap space available, then work our way down to those teams who have less cap space, to those who have work to do to gain cap space.

Each synopsis will look at cap space (or how much over the cap), players under contract, total draft picks, any players with a fifth-year option decision ahead and notes about the most notable free agent, the most likely player cut and the quarterback situation.

For this installment, we’ll look at the Baltimore Ravens.

Players under contract for 2026: 48

Projected cap space: $22M

Total draft picks: 11 (No. 14 in first round)

Most notable free agent: Tyler Linderbaum

Most likely roster cut: Marlon Humphrey

Fifth-year option decision: Zay Flowers

Quarterback situation: Lamar Jackson is the unquestioned starter.

The ideal offseason approach:

The Ravens may have a new head coach in Jesse Minter but their expectation to make the playoffs won’t change. However, don’t expect them to switch their usual strategy of being selective in free agency.

Because the Ravens declined the fifth-year option for Linderbaum, he’s not getting the franchise tag. It will be interesting, though, to see how hard the Ravens push to re-sign him.

Along with Humphrey, the Ravens might cut another player or two. They are not lacking for draft capital, so they will have the means to fill holes on the roster even if they stick to their usual tactic of not being aggressive in free agency.
