That’s a pair of former NFL All-Pros with something to prove catching passes from one of the NFL’s elite young quarterbacks in Jayden Daniels. And that might work.

It’s why Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton thinks the Commanders should move fast to sign Hill following his shocking release from the Miami Dolphins.

“Although Hill is in the latter stages of his career, he could be a high-end No. 2 option behind Terry McLaurin, who’s set to be the focal point of new offensive coordinator David Blough’s offense,” Moton wrote. “Following an injury-riddled down year, quarterback Jayden Daniels could post gaudy passing numbers in a rebound season with a McLaurin-Hill tandem on the perimeter.”

Hill Suffered Gruesome Injury in Week 4

Hill has been arguably the NFL’s premiere elite wide receiver over the last decade and could very well wind up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame after his career is over.

The debate now is if he can even approach close to that level after suffering the first major injury of his career in 2025 when he dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, in a Week 4 win over the New York Jets.

Selected in the 5th round (No. 165 overall) of the 2016 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill is a 6-time NFL All-Pro, 8-time Pro Bowler and was named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team. He was also one of the stars for the Chiefs when they won the Super Bowl following the 2019 season — their first championship in 50 years.

Through the first decade of his career, Hill has 13,621 all-purpose yards and 95 total touchdowns, including 11,363 receiving yards and 83 receiving touchdowns. He’s also the only player in NFL history to score a 50-plus yard touchdown 5 different ways — rushing, receiving, kickoff return, punt return and fumble return.

Massive Checks, Massive Results, Massive Headaches

The Chiefs traded Hill to the Dolphins in exchange for 5 draft picks before the 2022 season, letting Hill get access to the biggest payday he possibly could.

The Dolphins signed Hill to a 4-year, $120 million contract extension the day of the trade, then re-upped with a 3-year, $90 million restructured extension before the 2024 season and has $146.2 million in career earnings through the end of the 2025 season.

With all of that productivity and passes caught, there have also been problems. Almost constantly.

Dating back even to before his time with the Dolphins, Hill has had legal issues, including pleading guilty to assaulting his pregnant girlfriend while playing for Oklahoma State in 2014, which led to his dismissal from the team.

In June 2023, Hill was investigated for the alleged assault of a marina employee in Florida but wasn’t punished after the 2 sides settled out of court.

In December 2023, Hill was successfully sued for paternity by 2 different women just one month after his marriage to Keeta Vaccaro, and amid reports Hill had fathered 10 children by 4 different women.

In 2024, Hill was sued by influencer Sophie Hall, who accused Hill of breaking her leg during a “football lesson” at his home.

In April 2025, Vaccaro’s mother called police to the family home to investigate an alleged domestic dispute between the couple but no chargers were filed. Vaccaro filed fo divorce the next day.
