Former Steelers assistant coaches are on the move following head coach Mike Tomlin’s decision to step down at the end of the season.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday that the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to hire former Steelers wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni for the same position.

Azzanni was Pittsburgh’s wide receivers coach for the past two seasons and brings nine years of NFL experience as a wide receivers coach, starting with the Denver Broncos in 2017.

The Raiders hired former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as their head coach following the conclusion of the Super Bowl.

Kubiak’s offense does a fantastic job of involving the wide receivers, as evidenced by Seahawks wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who topped the NFL with 1,783 receiving yards this past season.

The Raiders don’t have a wide receiver who comes close to Smith-Njigba’s talent, but they do have a handful of draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. This gives them a chance to bring in a top wide receiver for Azzanni to coach.
