A $100,000 reward has been offered for leads after vandalism that halted construction of the new Buffalo Bills stadium in Orchard Park.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Days after it was revealed that construction paused on the Buffalo Bills‘ new stadium following the discovery of graffiti and other forms of vandalism around the site, work will get back under way in Orchard Park.
Work will be suspended again on Thursday, but will resume on Friday. Gilbane | Turner, which is building the stadium, also announced that there’s a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Gilbane | Turner said in a statement Wednesday night that there is zero tolerance for vandalism.
“We suspended work because the people who come to this jobsite deserve to work in an environment that reflects respect and professionalism,” the company said in the statement.
“When that standard is violated, we address it and take the time to reset expectations. That is who we are and how we operate. Gilbane | Turner maintains zero tolerance for graffiti, vandalism, or any behavior that undermines the respectful and supportive environment we expect on our projects.”
The company said it has received strong backing as the investigation moves forward.
“We appreciate the strong support we have received from our trade contractors, unions, local officials, law enforcement, and the workers on site as we work to identify those responsible for this unacceptable act,” the statement read. “The response reinforces what we know to be true: the overwhelming majority of people on this project are committed to maintaining a welcoming and professional work environment.”
Some 1,500 workers will return to the stadium site on Friday. Company officials said the project would be done on time.
“This stadium will be delivered on schedule. Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive jobsite is our highest priority,” the company said.
