If the Jacksonville Jaguars choose to address the running back position in free agency, who are the best available free agent options for them?

Of course, one of the top free agent backs is the Jaguars’ own Travis Etienne. One would think that if the Jaguars are going to splurge on the running back position in free agency, it would be to re-sign Etienne.

But if Etienne ends up elsewhere, then the likely plan for the Jaguars is to go into the new year leaning heavily on Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen, which could very well be the plan.

In this scenario, that doesn’t mean that the running back position won’t be added to, depth and competition for that third spot on the depth chart will be needed, but I would guess that Jacksonville isn’t planning on devoting a ton of salary cap resources to this unit.

With 11 draft picks, Jacksonville could also address running back in the draft.

Like every team, the Jaguars have the opportunity to create more cap space, but are currently in a tight situation.
