The former No. 1 pick played in just five games last season.

Murray, a two-time Pro Bowler, has led the Cardinals to just one postseason since becoming the franchise QB in 2018.

The Cardinals went 2-3 under Murray last season, while going 1-11 under veteran Jacoby Brissett.

Brissett is under contract for the 2025 season and the team are now looking elsewhere for a new play-caller.

Reports suggest Bagent, 25, – currently a backup at the Bears – is on the Cardinals radar.

“Have heard the Cardinals are intrigued by Bears backup QB Tyson Bagent,” Phoenix area radio host John Gambadoro wrote on X.

“He has two years left on his deal, so would have to trade for him.

“Grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia and went to Shepherd University.

“Was an undrafted free-agent who beat out PJ Walker for the backup job with Chicago.

“[He] was so good the Bears signed him to a 2-year $10M extension.”

Bagent went undrafted out of Division II Shepherd University.

But he has has looked competent in limited action at NFL level since joining the Bears three seasons ago.

Bagent threw for 859 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions when starting for the Bears in 2023.

He went 2-3 in five starts after then-Bears QB Justin Fields was out injured.

Arizona holds the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

But with the 2026 class short on quarterbacks, they are not expected to draft a play-caller in the opening round.

Murray has two years left on his massive five-year $230.5m contract that he signed in 2024.

The 28-year-old is due to become a free agent in 2029
