Eagles legend Jason Kelce was a great leader during his 13-year career in Philadelphia, but he wasn’t perfect.
Kelce sometimes made mistakes — and he paid the price for them.
“I got fined by the team,” Kelce said on the Dudes On Dudes podcast with Patriots legends Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. “I’ve gotten fined for being late, missing meetings. I know. Not good.”
How often did Kelce make these errors?
“I want to emphasize (it was) not common. You’re late for one thing, and they got to keep you honest,” he said.
Kelce didn’t reveal the amount of the fines, but if they happened multiple times, it’s fair to assume he lost a significant sum. He also didn’t disclose when they happened.
He definitely made up the money he loss.
In 2022, a year before Kelce retired, the Eagles made him the highest-paid center in the NFL at $14 million per year. After he retired in 2024, ESPN gave Kelce a three-year, $24 million contract to become a studio analyst on Monday Night Football.
Kelce also co-hosts the New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, which is reportedly worth upwards of $100 million.
The future Hall of Famer has been successful on and off the field.
