One of the Indianapolis Colts’ defensive coaches will reportedly be joining the Arizona Cardinals coaching staff.
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Arizona is “expected” to hire Colts‘ defensive quality control coach Brent Jackson in an assistant defensive backs coach type of role.

Jackson has been with the Colts for the last four seasons. Before that, he coached at the college level, which included being on staff at Oregon and Auburn.
It was also reported recently that Shane Steichen made two additions to the defensive coaching staff, hiring Jeremy Bruce and Dillon Doyle as defensive quality control coaches — the same role that Jackson filled.
Perhaps these additions were made in anticipation of Jackson earning an elevated opportunity elsewhere.
The Colts’ defense in 2025 ranked 21st in scoring and 23rd in yards per game surrendered, particularly struggling down the stretch of the season.

Addressing the defense this offseason will seemingly be a top priority for GM Chris Ballard.
