Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick has made a shocking revelation about her relationship with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, claiming it was “emotionally abusive” and that he “leaves a trail of blood.”
The couple, who dated for over two years while Rodgers played for the Green Bay Packers, parted ways in 2020. While Rodgers has remained tight-lipped about their breakup, Patrick has been candid about their relationship.
In a recent interview on The Sage Steele Show, Patrick, who works as an F1 analyst for Sky Sports and recently contributed to FOX Sports’ Indy 500 practice coverage, opened up about the alleged emotional abuse she suffered during their relationship.

Patrick described their breakup as “sudden,” and revealed that living with Rodgers had become all-consuming. “The breakup with Aaron in 2020 because it was sudden. It felt like it was my life,” she shared.
“So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life… and because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing. Someone that you know, people could never imagine that I would lack any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am.
“Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood. I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff – there’s been enough out there. But it gave me the greatest gift, which is myself. It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.”

Mirror US Sport has reached out to Rodgers’ representatives for a statement. One of the last thoughts Rodgers shared about his past romance with Patrick was during an appearance on the Aubrey Marcus Podcast. The prominent NFL figure maintained a concise tone.
“I was dating Danica and that relationship was great for me because she is on her own journey and spirituality is important to her,” he mentioned. “We both were finding our way, learning about different things [and] practicing meditation techniques.”
Patrick will be in the stands watching this weekend’s Indy 500 after hanging up her helmet from professional racing in 2018. Setting records as the first female winner of an IndyCar Series race and the first woman to secure a NASCAR Cup Series pole position, Patrick also touts the most starts, laps led, and top-tens by a woman in NASCAR Cup Series history.

Now a motorsport analyst and a wealthy entrepreneur due to her racing career and business endeavors, Patrick regularly appears on Sky Sports’ F1 broadcasts. Yet, she won’t be providing insight for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.
Patrick is set to be in the US, where he will report on the initial stage of NASCAR standout Kyle Larson’s second attempt at “The Double.”
Larson’s previous year’s endeavor was thwarted due to weather-related postponements in Indianapolis, and the NASCAR event in Charlotte was abbreviated.
