Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is sharing a Valentine’s Day greeting with and for his future wife, Taylor Swift.
While Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs were falling apart to end 2025, Taylor Swift made quite a late-year run.
Swift released her 12th career studio album in October, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and earned some major success. She broke a number of streaming records and now has taken home another accolade for sales despite a short time frame.
Swift’s latest accomplishment puts her in contrast with her husband-to-be, who is still contemplating whether to continue his NFL career or hang up his cleats.
Taylor Swift Earns Top Global-Selling Album
As Billboard reported, Swift’s latest album was the top seller across the world for 2025, even though she had only two months for sales.
“Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl has been named as the biggest-selling global album of 2025 as part of the IFPI’s annual review,” the report noted.
Swift had already earned the honor of IFPI’s top-selling global artist, and now earned the global sales record for her album as well.
“Released in October 2025, Swift’s 12th studio album scored a whopping 6.05 million units across physical, digital and streaming. It’s the second year in a row that Swift has taken the prize following 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department, which topped that year’s count.”
The report noted that Swift’s album has spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, setting the record for equivalent album units earned in a week with just over four million.
Travis Kelce Faces Uncertain Future
While Swift’s career is still going strong, Kelce has not yet announced whether he will play in the NFL again in 2026. NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport noted that the Chiefs hope he returns, but planned to give Kelce some time to think over his decision.
“The perennial Pro Bowler, who had a resurgent 2025 to reassert his place among the game’s best despite being 36 years old, has not made a firm decision on his future,” Rapoport wrote. “However, he has been in touch with his team about a potential return and Kansas City wants him back, sources say. The plan is to reconvene after the Super Bowl to finalize a plan that works for both parties.”
After the Chiefs saw their season end in disappointment, missing the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade, Kelce said he had no idea how long it would take to reach his decision.
“Who knows?” Kelce told reporters. “Who knows? It either hits me quick or I’ve got to take some time. Last year, it was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away, I wanted to give this [year] a shot. We’ll see.”
Kelce and Swift do have one major plan set in stone — their upcoming wedding. The New York Post’s Page Six reported that the couple has a venue in place for the nuptials in mid-June.
“Taylor Swift cut a hefty check to snag a bride’s wedding date at a posh Rhode Island venue, Page Six is told,” the report noted. “Multiple sources tell us that the billionaire pop superstar wanted to marry her fiancé, Travis Kelce, at Ocean House in Watch Hill on Saturday, June 13, 2026.”
