Eagles’ star wide receiver A.J. Brown admitted that Derrick Henry is attempting to recruit him to the Ravens

The Philadelphia Eagles have been busy revamping their coaching staff early on this offseason, but they have some issues that they have to deal with over the next few weeks. The biggest of them all involves the future of star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who could very well be traded this offseason.

Brown was not shy in voicing his displeasure with the state of Philadelphia’s offense throughout the 2025 campaign, and it could lead to him being on the move at some point in the near future. If Brown does end up on the trade market, he should have no shortage of suitors. In fact, one of his former teammates, Derrick Henry, is publicly recruiting him to the Baltimore Ravens, which led to Brown issuing an eye-opening message on the situation.

A.J. Brown Dishes on Derrick Henry Recruiting Him to the Ravens

Brown has spent the past four seasons with the Eagles, where he has turned himself into one of the top wide receivers in the league. Before that, though, he began his career with the Tennessee Titans, where he and Henry teamed up to be one of the most explosive offensive duos in the league.

While Brown has continued to elevate his game, the same has been true of Henry, who has turned in a pair of dominant campaigns with Baltimore in 2024 and 2025. And yet, while the Ravens’ ground game is among the best in the league, it feels like in order for the team to make it to the Super Bowl, it is going to need another playmaker operating alongside Henry and the team’s top wide receiver, Zay Flowers.

If Brown were to be on the move this offseason, Henry would clearly want to reunite with his former teammate. Heck, he hasn’t been shy in attempting to convince Brown to force his way to Baltimore, and it has caught the attention of the Eagles’ star playmaker. Brown acknowledged Henry’s recruiting efforts, but said he will tell his good friend to tone it down.

“Yes, I have been seeing what Derrick is saying,” Brown said on “Dudes on Dudes.” “I’m just gonna tell Derrick to chill.”

There’s no doubt that when Brown is invested and getting the ball, he’s one of the best players at his position in the NFL. The problem is that when Brown isn’t getting the ball on a consistent basis, things go off the rails for the Eagles one way or another. Simply put, their ground game is far too effective for Brown to be getting the ball on every play, which created some issues in the locker room for Philly last season when their rushing attack struggled.

The front office has to determine whether or not the drama that comes with Brown is worth his production on the field. This isn’t the first time Brown’s name has come up in trade rumors, but it feels like this is the first time the Eagles could actually trade him. And if that’s the route they decide to take, expect the Ravens to be one of the teams on the other line making an offer for the talented playmaker.
