The San Francisco 49ers ended the 2025 season as the 10th-best offense in the league, scoring 25.7 points per game. However, they had plenty of issues on that side of the ball, including the lackluster play of some of their offensive linemen.

In front of both Brock Purdy and Mac Jones, San Francisco’s line struggled against the pass for most of the year, but the two quarterbacks excelled at getting the ball out quickly, as they were sacked on just 4.5% of their dropbacks.

Looking around the league, the 49ers had just one offensive lineman who was in the top-10 for the lowest pressure rate allowed. They also had one lineman who was statistically the worst of the 32 starters at his position in pass protection.

Here’s a list of the five guys who started the most games at each spot along the 49ers’ offensive line, and the pressure rate that they allowed (h/t Daniel Rotman).

Trent Williams – 5.40% (No. 10 LT)Colton McKivitz – 4.81% (No. 13 RT)Dominick Puni – 4.52% (No. 16 RG)Jake Brendel – 3.99% (No. 24 C)Spencer Burford – 7.89% (No. 32 LG)Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.

San Francisco needs better play from their offensive line in 2026 if they want to realize their full potential. Upgrading at left guard is also a must, as Burford is set to be a free agent this offseason.
