Cleveland Browns three-time Pro Bowl right guard Wyatt Teller wrote a farewell letter to the Browns organization on Wednesday. Teller is set to become a free agent in March.
Could the former Brown be a fit with the Pittsburgh Steelers? Veteran left guard Isaac Semualo could leave in free agency. Most outlets project the Steelers to move on from Seumalo.
The Browns signed Teller to a four-year, $56.8 million contract extension in November of 2021.
Teller was a fifth-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played one season in Buffalo before being traded to the Browns.
Teller had a breakout season in 2020, being named to the 2020 All-Pro Team, along with defensive end Myles Garrett, tackle Jack Conklin, and fellow guard Joel Bitonio. The Browns beat the Steelers in the 2020 Wild Card Round game, marking Cleveland’s first playoff win since 1994.
Teller continued to dominate, earning a second-team All-Pro selection in 2021. He also made the Pro Bowl in three straight years from 2021 to 2023.
Seumalo is one of several prominent free agents for the Steelers. Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus projects Seumalo to land with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Pittsburgh used first-round selections on offensive tackles Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu, a second-round pick on center Zach Frazier and a fourth-rounder on right guard Mason McCormick in recent years. The Steelers could bolster the offensive line by adding a veteran like Teller.
The Steelers may already have Seumalo’s replacement on the roster, however. Backup guard Spencer Anderson has already filled in for Seumalo on several occasions when he has been injured, and he played quite well when doing so.
