Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison could be the missing puzzle piece.

It’s no secret across the NFL that the Buffalo Bills are in dire need of a top-tier wide receiver.

The Bills haven’t had a standout wide receiver since they brought in Stefon Diggs, but they traded him to the Houston Texans in 2024.

This offseason presents a genuine opportunity for the Bills to acquire a top-tier wide receiver, which could happen through the NFL Draft or via a trade.

If the Bills are considering a trade for a wide receiver, they might want to reach out to the Minnesota Vikings, who could be showcasing one of their star players.

Bills Trade Proposal to Land Jordan Addison

The Vikings likely wouldn’t consider trading wide receiver Justin Jefferson, but there is a chance they might explore moving on from wide receiver Jordan Addison.

If Minnesota is considering parting ways with Addison, Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine suggested an intriguing trade proposal on Friday that would send Addison to Buffalo.

Ballentine wrote that the Vikings would receive: 2026 second-round pick (No. 60), 2027 conditional pick (fifth-rounder with escalators for performance), and the Bills would get Addison in return.

“There’s no doubt about it: The Bills need a dynamic receiver. The front office tried to deny that it was a need last offseason,” Ballentine wrote.

Keon Coleman has been a disappointment, but even at his best, he isn’t the kind of man-coverage beater that Josh Allen needs. Jordan Addison has dealt with multiple off‑field incidents during his time with the Vikings, and the team will have to decide on his fifth‑year option this offseason.”

Buffalo Could Look to Get Addison Back to His Rookie Self

Addison has been with the Vikings for the past three seasons, racking up 2,396 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns over 46 games. This past season, Addison appeared in only 14 games, totaling 610 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He has struggled since his impressive rookie season in 2023, during which he recorded 10 touchdowns.

However, if he can play alongside a quarterback like Allen, he could rediscover the form he had as a rookie.

The only concern is that Addison is entering the final year of his contract, while the Bills would have the option to exercise his fifth-year option for 2027; it might not make sense if he doesn’t get back to how he played a few years ago.

“If they aren’t comfortable extending him for the long term, he could become a valuable trade asset,” Ballentine wrote. “The Bills could fit his $4.4 million cap hit relatively easy and they’d have time to figure out how to afford his extension.

“The Bills don’t have a ton of cap space. They also have other pressing needs if they want to finally get over the playoff hump. This could be a relatively cost-efficient way to fill a huge need for the long haul.”

Buffalo may be willing to trade away its second-round pick to move up from its 26th spot in the first round and snag a promising young wide receiver.

The Bills will have plenty of options to acquire a wide receiver this offseason, and it will be interesting to see what choices they make.
