The Dallas Cowboys have released veteran linebacker Logan Wilson, the team announced on Friday.
Wilson was acquired in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals before last season’s trade deadline. The 29-year-old appeared in seven games with the Cowboys and had 24 tackles.
By releasing Wilson, Dallas will save $6.5 million in salary cap space heading into the offseason. There was no guaranteed money left on Wilson’s deal which was set to run through 2027.
The release has the potential be the first of many money-saving moves the Cowboys could make in the coming weeks.
