The Houston Texans have six months to fix the faults of their roster that plagued them from making a conference title game for the first time in franchise history. Before the start of the 2026 season rolls around. Still, fans would love to have a boost of confidence that the team will thrive next fall with the return of starting quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Earlier this month, DraftKings Sportsbook released its Super Bowl LXI odds, ranking the Texans 12th overall to hoist a Lombardi Trophy. Now, the website has released the projected win totals for every team in the NFL.

These totals are an indication of the outlook for each team based solely on how many wins the sportsbooks expect them to win. The higher the projected win total, the higher the expectations.

After entering last season with a 9.5 total, Houston finds itself in a similar position, once again totaling a win total of 9.5 for 2026. It’s not a step up, but given the weakpoints of the offense and the stability of the defense, it’s a fair starting point entering the offseason that could expand depending on who is added in free agency and the draft.

For the 2026 season, 10 teams were given win totals of 10.5, including the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and NFC runner-up Los Angeles Rams, leading the pack. Other teams include the Baltimore Ravens under new head coach Jesse Minter, the Buffalo Bills with first-year coach Joe Brady, along with the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers.

Houston still controls the lead over both the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, but is tied with current AFC South champions Jacksonville. The Texans do have a slight lean over the Jaguars since their over/under of -110 is higher at +100.

It’s not the end-all, but at least DraftKings expects Houston to be a playoff team for a fourth straight year.
