Browns once promising star defender career in doubt

The NFL offseason is underway, and teams are getting an idea of what their 2026 season will look like. Unfortunately, some teams are receiving bad news regarding the status of their players’ health.

One player in particular might be seeing the end of their once-promising career. The Cleveland Browns are facing the reality surrounding Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

Owusu-Koramoah, a former Penn State product, suffered a neck injury in 2024 that left him carted off the field. This same injury led to him missing the remainder of the 2024 and the entire 2025 seasons.

It now appears that the career is trending towards career ending. Reports have indicated his career is likely over. A devastating blow for a once-promising linebacker.

Owusu-Koramoah was a key piece to the Browns’ defensive resurgence that peaked in 2023. His 101 tackles, three-and-a-half sacks, and two interceptions helped the Browns guide multiple starting quarterbacks to the playoffs.

The Browns drafted Carson Schwesinger last year in the second-round. The pairing was looking promising in his rookie season, with the hopes that Owusu-Koramoah could return.
