With February winding down and the NFL Scouting Combine closing in, NFL teams are working hard to start zeroing in on the intriguing prospects in this year’s draft.

As the Tennessee Titans sit here today prior to the start of free agency, two needs stand out above the rest: cornerback and edge. While they do need to add a receiver, that position has some young depth, unlike corner or edge.

These specific needs play a significant role as analysts and outlets begin building their mock drafts, and the prospects often align with them at the fourth-overall selection. That happened again with draft analyst Charles Davis in his first mock draft, where he has the Titans grabbing an explosive edge prospect.

4. Tennessee Titans – David Bailey – Texas Tech

The Titans provide All-Pro DT Jeffery Simmons with immediate help. Robert Saleh would have a nice foundation to work with up front on defense.

Bailey and Miami’s Reuben Bain are often linked to the Titans at this spot, and both players fit the mold of what defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is looking for with the edge position in Robert Saleh’s defense. Bailey is dynamic, explosive, and plays fast; something that will be a must in the new scheme.Â
