New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh are scheduled to address the media on Tuesday during the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Schoen will speak at 10:00 a.m., followed by Harbaugh at 1:00 p.m.
This marks the first time Schoen has spoken publicly since Harbaugh’s introductory press conference in January.
In the intervening weeks, significant changes have reshaped the team’s organizational structure. Harbaugh, hired after negotiating a direct reporting line to co-owner John Mara, has shifted the traditional GM-led model. Dawn Aponte was brought in as senior vice president of football operations and strategy, overseeing analytics, salary-cap management, contract negotiations, compliance, and strategic planning.
Aponte reports directly to Harbaugh rather than Schoen, whose role has been largely refocused on scouting and personnel evaluation amid Harbaugh’s expanded influence over football operations.
Harbaugh has been highly visible since his arrival, conducting numerous local and national interviews while emphasizing collaboration. Tuesday’s sessions come as the team gears up for the 2026 NFL draft and free agency, periods critical for roster building under the new dynamic.

Schoen is expected to face questions about the restructured front office and his ongoing contributions, while Harbaugh will likely discuss draft strategy, potential free-agent targets, and his vision for turning around the franchise.
