The Patriots might go after a high-profile wide receiver this offseason, but even if they manage to secure one, they still need to strengthen their depth at the position.
New England should consider bringing in a lower-tier veteran free agent, and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor could be a great addition.
Nailor has been with the Vikings for the past four seasons. In the most recent season, he recorded 444 receiving yards and four touchdowns over 17 games, bringing his career totals to 1,066 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 55 games.
The Vikings are recognized for having a standout wide receiver, Justin Jefferson who often leaves Nailor in the shadows in the eyes of many fans.
Nailor would make an excellent No. 3 wide receiver for New England, complementing Kayshon Boutte and potentially Stefon Diggs, assuming he remains with the Patriots next season.
Spotrac recently estimated Nailor’s market value at $4.7 million per season, which would be a relatively affordable option for the Patriots. They might consider offering him a one-year deal.
It will be interesting to see which players the Patriots bring in this offseason to support Drake Maye and, hopefully, help lead New England back to the Super Bowl next season.
