Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife Hailee Steinfeld have announced they’re expecting, and they got quite the reaction.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t get a Super Bowl ring this season, but he’s got an even more important addition on the way very soon — his first child with wife Hailee Steinfeld.

The couple announced last year that they are expecting their first child, which is due close to a year after they tied the knot. Though they have not shared many details about the baby’s arrival, some fans believe that Steinfeld may have tipped the baby’s gender with a recent announcement.

Josh Allen & Hailee Steinfeld’s Accidental Gender Reveal?

Steinfeld has been opening up to fans about her excitement at becoming a new mother, sharing a photo in her “Beau Society” newsletter that sparked some speculation about the baby’s gender. As Alex Brasky of SI.com noted, fans were tipped off about some of the color hues of the image Steinfeld shared and believe that she accidentally gave it away.

“In the photo, Steinfeld displays her pregnancy along with a bouquet of flowers, some of which were light blue, and a light blue ribbon, leading many to insinuate that the 29-year-old mother-to-be was sending subtle signs that she and Allen are indeed expecting a son,” Brasky wrote.

Steinfeld has already used her newsletter to share some other personal news, writing about the couple’s engagement and wedding and then revealing in December that they are expecting their first child together.

Steinfeld revealed the pregnancy in her Beau Society newsletter by posting a video of Allen kissing her stomach and a list of things she is grateful for on her 29th birthday — ending with the pregnancy.

“As I step into my 29th year as a softer, stronger version of myself, I want to appreciate some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small,” Steinfeld wrote. “29. This video…”

More Baby Details Await

Neither Allen nor Steinfeld have given an exact due date for the baby’s arrival, though the actress did have a noticeable bump when she appeared at the Golden Globe Awards in January. The timing of her first announcement would point to sometime midway through the calendar year, likely before the Bills take the field for training camp around late July.

Speaking to reporters after the team announced new head coach Joe Brady, Allen revealed that he is excited to become a father — even if it means a lot of learning on the fly.

“I’ve got siblings that have kids. I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids, and I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance. So I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad,” he said. “It’s something that I will take with great pride. And we’re gonna have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else.”

Allen also said he has work to do off the field to prepare for the 2026 season, especially given the entirely new coaching staff under Brady’s direction. The Bills quarterback put the blame on himself for the playoff loss to the Denver Broncos, a game where he had four turnovers.
