During a recent appearance on SportsCenter, comedian and actor Tracy Morgan, a big New York Giants fan, expressed bold confidence in the franchise’s future, spotlighting rookie running back Cam Skattebo.
Morgan compared Skattebo’s hard-nosed running style to legendary Giants tight end Mark Bavaro, praising the smashmouth approach that made him a fan favorite early in his career.
Morgan also recounted his direct question to the young player.
“Skattebo is running like Mark Bavaro,” Morgan said. “I (asked) Skattebo, ‘Which finger are you going to put your first ring on? Your first ring.'”
The pointed remark reflects Morgan’s belief that Skattebo, alongside new head coach John Harbaugh and promising quarterback Jaxson Dart, forms the core of a team poised for sustained success—including multiple Super Bowl titles. The comment injects optimism into a franchise rebuilding around young talent.

Skattebo, a fourth-round pick from Arizona State, burst onto the scene in 2025, rushing for 410 yards and five touchdowns in just seven games before a devastating ankle injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. The gruesome play involved a dislocation, open tibia fracture, and ruptured deltoid ligament, requiring emergency surgery.
As of early 2026, Skattebo has provided positive updates on his 4-6 month rehab, recently beginning to jog and expressing determination to return fully by training camp, ready to contribute to the Giants’ resurgence.
