Rondale Moore was found dead Saturday, according to the Floyd County Coroner’s Office and New Albany police. He was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024.

NFL wide receiver and former Trinity High School standout Rondale Moore died Saturday in southern Indiana. He was 25.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death to WHAS11 Saturday night. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

Early reports from the Floyd County Coroner’s Office say that Moore was transported to Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, where he was pronounced dead at 6:05 p.m.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said Moore was found in a garage with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Moore was born in New Albany, Indiana, and attended New Albany High School and won a state basketball championship in 2016. He transferred to Trinity High School in Louisville where he won a state football title in 2017.

Moore played at Purdue for current Louisville coach Jeff Brohm. As a freshman in 2018, Moore had 114 catches for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns, and was named a first-team All-American.

Brohm released the following statement Saturday night:

“Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach. The ultimate competitor who wouldn’t back down from any challenge. Rondale had a work ethic unmatched by anyone. A great teammate that would come through in any situation. We all loved Rondale; we loved his smile and his competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family. We love him very much.”

Moore was on the Minnesota Vikings roster for the 2025 season, but was placed on injured reserve prior to the season. He also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons.
