Four teams that could be in the market for a receiver this offseason are the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

The Niners could lose both Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne in free agency, and Brandon Aiyuk appears to have played his last snap in San Francisco.

The Patriots need some veteran depth behind Stefon Diggs, and with Diggs being a cut candidate, New England might be in the market for a new No. 1, also.

Philadelphia could use more depth behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, but if Brown gets traded, the Eagles’ situation becomes dire.

Los Angeles is in the best shape at receiver among these four teams, as Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey and Tre Harris are all under contract. However, the Chargers might be in the market for a veteran if Keenan Allen doesn’t return.

One player all four teams could have an eye on is Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver and pending free agent, Mike Evans.

Evans has decided he will play at least one more season, but he is also going to test the free-agent market, which means his return to Tampa Bay isn’t a given.

As far as what Evans is looking for in a new home, SportsBoom’s Jason La Canfora reports Evans is prioritizing “quarterback, scheme and acumen of the offensive coordinator/play caller,” as well as a chance to win a Super Bowl.

Knowing all that, La Canfora pegged the Eagles, 49ers, Patriots and Chargers as teams that fit the mold.

Those sources are adamant that Evans is closely studying the offenses, both quarterback, scheme and acumen of the offensive coordinator/play caller, and prioritizing those matters, along with the opportunity to win another Super Bowl, of course.

There are not too many teams that meet those qualifications in the NFL, but besides Tampa, which feels like far from a lock, the 49ers, Patriots and Chargers standout (the Eagles would as well, were they to trade veteran receiver AJ Brown as many anticipate).

Based on what Evans is looking for, we definitely would not lump the Eagles in with the Chargers, 49ers and Patriots as La Canfora has done.

While the Eagles check the box of a Super Bowl contender, their offense has been a mess the past two seasons and now Philly is handing the reins of the offense to a first-time offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion.

Even if you want to credit head coach Nick Sirianni as the real brains behind the operation there, the results and dysfunction over the past two seasons point to an offense that Evans might be hesitant to join.

The 49ers, Patriots and Chargers would check the box of contenders that at give Evans at least a chance to win a Super Bowl, and they have better situations on offense.

Los Angeles is headlined by one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL in new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, and Justin Herbert is a good quarterback when the Chargers can actually protect him.

Of course, there’s offensive guru and head coach Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco, and Brock Purdy has already shown he can get a team to a Super Bowl.

The Patriots have a budding superstar under center in Drake Maye and a Super Bowl-winning play-caller in Josh McDaniels.

With the Niners and Patriots having the biggest needs at wide receiver, we would put them at the top of the list of these four teams, with the Chargers being a close third and the Eagles being well behind in the No. 4 spot.
