The Los Angeles Rams haven’t had much in the form of early draft capital to work with over the last few years. Even when they had a first-rounder last year, they traded down and out of the first round with the Atlanta Falcons.

But this year, they have two first-rounders. And with a good amount of cap space, and the front office ready to go all-in, now’s the time to capitalize.

And for the Rams, according to Nate Atkins of The Athletic, the NFL Scouting Combine will be where they begin to formulate their plan for how they’ll address their most important need this offseason: cornerback.

Rams to prepare for CB additions at NFL Combine

“… the time in Indianapolis will be about cornerback prospects who could fit the Rams at Nos. 13 or 29 overall as well as exploring potential trades and preparing for free agency so as not to put that entire burden on rookies,” Atkins writes.

The Rams have a major need at cornerback, specifically, outside cornerback. Their best corner, Cobie Durant, is hitting free agency, and Darious Williams, a veteran CB, is a likely cut candidate.

They needed cornerback help during the 2025 season, and with the room getting even weaker, the need couldn’t be more apparent.

With two first-round picks and some cap space, the Rams need to spend on their cornerback room this offseason.

Matthew Stafford is back for one more season, and the rest of the roster looks to be in Super Bowl-caliber shape.

But, at cornerback, the Rams need more than one corner this offseason. Whether it’s two rookies, two free agents, or some combination of the two, the Rams need cornerback help.

Trent McDuffie of the Kansas City Chiefs is one trade option, so the Rams at the NFL Combine could talk to the Chiefs brass and see what it would cost to land the All-Pro cornerback.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the Rams are expected to use their time to scout prospects, gauge interest in free agents, and see if there are any trades possibly on the table.
