The New England Patriots may consider adding a few wide receivers during the offseason. Naturally, they should aim high by targeting a star like Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown.

However, if the Patriots can’t secure a deal with Brown, they should consider targeting free agent wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brown recently finished his seventh NFL season, participating in all 16 games and making 49 receptions for a total of 587 yards and five touchdowns. This brings his career totals to 4,322 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns over 90 games.

One thing that sets Brown apart from other NFL receivers is his incredible speed, which is something the Patriots should definitely consider adding to their roster.

If New England were to acquire Brown, he could serve as a serious threat for Drake Maye. Maye enjoys throwing the deep ball, and having a receiver like Brown, who can stretch the field, would do wonders for the offense.

However, Brown underwent surgery in 2024 for a severe sternoclavicular joint dislocation in his left shoulder that only allowed his appearance in two games.

The Patriots would need to consider if signing Brown would lead to a meaningful contribution as he approaches the latter part of his career. If they believe Brown could deliver a solid season, bringing him on board for one year could be a smart move.
