Some fans choose their team, and some fans are chosen by their team. Which was it for you? Today, we want to hear your story from you: How you became a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
When did you first become a fan? Were you born into it? Was there a specific game or season that pulled you in? What’s the earliest moment you remember as a fan?
My family moved to greater Jacksonville at the turn of the century. I was a year old, and with no previous ties to Northeast Florida, I guess I didn’t really cheer for the local team until they gave me something to cheer about. The 2017 season hooked me because it was a driving conversation not just for my close friend group, but really for everyone in the city. The more I talked to fellow fans — whether in person or on “Jags Twitter” — the more my passion for the team grew. The 2017 season turned me into a fan; the community turned me into a diehard.
