The Las Vegas Raiders should look to upgrade their wide receiver room this offseason, and it looks like the team is preparing to pursue one of the top players at the position in free agency.
According to Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports, the Raiders are expected to heavily pursue Indianapolis Colts free agent wide receiver Alec Pierce.
Pauline adds that league insiders believe Pierce will land a deal worth at least $27 million annually on the open market.
“League insiders who forecast the free-agent market tell me that [Alec] Pierce and George Pickens, the top two free-agent receivers, are expected to sign contracts that average at least $27 million annually. I’m told that two receiver-needy teams, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Tennessee Titans, will be major suitors for Pierce,” Pauline said.
Pierce is coming off a breakout season in 2025, tallying 1,003 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 47 receptions. The Cincinnati product also led the league in yards per reception for the second straight year.
Signing Pierce would give Las Vegas a dynamic deep threat who could serve as the Raiders’ No. 2 pass-catching option behind All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers.
Las Vegas is slated to have $91 million in cap space, so they have the money to add Pierce, who Sptrac projects will land a $80 million contract over four seasons.
Pauline’s report on Pierce receiving a deal worth at least $27 million per year would be a steep price, but one the Raiders could be willing to pay, given the pressing need they have at receiver.
