The Miami Dolphins have nearly 40 players from their 2025 roster set to hit some form of free agency when the new league year starts in March.
While that’s a huge list that includes several key players that Miami heavily relied on in recent years, only two of the Dolphins‘ pending free agents made NFL analyst Gregg Rosenthal’s list of top 101 free agents in 2026.

The first was tight end Darren Waller, who came in at No. 92.
“I’m as surprised as anyone he’s back on this list, but Waller’s scoring explosion was awesome in his comeback with the Dolphins,” Rosenthal wrote.
Waller returned to the NFL after a year off in 2025 and caught 24 passes for 283 yards and six touchdowns in nine games. He may not be the dominant presence he once was, but he’s a serious red-zone threat.
The other Dolphin to appear on this list is defensive end Bradley Chubb at No. 60.
“After missing the entire 2024 campaign while rehabbing a torn ACL, Chubb posted 8.5 sacks last season — a mark that somewhat masks an overall dip in pressures and wins,” Rosenthal wrote. “He could probably play more efficiently with fewer snaps.

“A quick note on Chubb’s status: Although he isn’t technically ticketed for free agency in March (he’s still under contract through 2027), NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reports the Dolphins intend to release the former Pro Bowler this offseason. Sounds like he’ll get the post-June 1 designation.”
Both will be huge losses for Miami if they find new homes in 2026, but with the team resetting, it doesn’t make much sense to have a ton of aging veterans around.
