The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.
The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.
Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.
Next up is wide receiver Xavier Weaver.
Xavier Weaver 2025 season
In his second season with the team, Weaver played in 10 games, caught seven passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns.

He also returned two kickoffs for 51 yards.
Xavier Weaver contract status
Signed as a rookie free agent in 2024, he has one year remaining on his contract, and he is scheduled to make $1.08 million in salary with no guarantees. He will be a restricted free agent in 2027.
Xavier Weaver offseason outlook
Weaver’s role in 2026 is far from certain. The Cardinals have a new coaching staff, and he has only seven receptions in two NFL seasons.
He will get a shot in the offseason and, with a new coaching staff, perhaps can impress, but it will likely be for a back-of-the-roster role.
