A.J. Brown’s tenuous status with the Philadelphia Eagles has grown more encouraging for the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

Brown could be headed for the trade block earlier this offseason. The 28-year-old finished the 2025 regular season with 1,003 receiving yards, making that his fourth consecutive season with 1,000 yards, as well as the sixth for his career. Now two seasons removed from winning Super Bowl LIX with the Eagles in 2025, Brown is among the highest-profile players in trade speculation this offseason.

According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni gave more credence to Brown’s uncertain future in Philadelphia before the 2026 NFL combine.

“Will A.J. be here next season? I think we’re still in a spot, like, I can’t guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season,” Sirianni said. “I’m thinking I’m going to be the coach next season, but you can’t guarantee anything past tomorrow.”

The Patriots currently have the second-best odds to trade for Brown this offseason.

New England finished the 2025 regular season ranked No. 4 in receiving yards with 4,459 yards. The rich can get richer by seeking a trade for Brown, to pair the Mississippi native with their own 1,000-yard receiver in Stefon Diggs for next season. Only three teams had multiple 1,000-yard wide receivers last season. Brown joined Diggs as one of the 19 wide receivers to achieve the feat in 2025.
