Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Jordan Davis cemented his status as a first-round pick lock in the 2022 NFL draft thanks to an incredible performance at the 2022 NFL combine. Davis’ 40-yard dash is one of the most memorable moments in combine history.
The 6-foot-6, 340-pound defensive tackle ran a 4.78 official time in the 40-yard dash. Only Georgia teammate Devonte Wyatt (4.77) ran a faster 40-yard dash among defensive tackles at the 2022 combine. Davis’ 40-yard dash time ranks sixth all-time (tied) among NFL combine defensive tackles entering the 2026 NFL combine. Of course, no defensive tackle that’s run a faster time than Davis outweighs the former Georgia fan favorite.

Jordan Davis showed his impressive speed throughout his career at Georgia. Davis is excellent in pursuit and is a great run defender. He won a national championship at Georgia and was a key piece of several elite defenses. Men that size should simply not be able to run that fast. Davis’ 40-yard dash time is faster than countless NFL greats including quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.
During the 2025 NFL regular season, Davis put his speed on display in a blocked kick return for a touchdown to cap off an epic win over the Los Angeles Rams. The spectacular play was Davis’ first career NFL touchdown.
After his unbelievable NFL combine performance, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Davis No. 13 in the 2022 NFL draft. Davis has appeared in two Super Bowls during his time with the Eagles and won Super Bowl 59.
