The Detroit Lions got the good news that longtime starting left tackle Taylor Decker is returning in 2026. But, that might not stop the organization from looking toward his long-term replacement or bolstering its offensive tackle ranks if the opportunity presents itself at No. 17 in round one of the 2026 NFL draft.

Spencer Fano is a highly-regarded offensive tackle prospect for the 2026 NFL draft from the University of Utah. Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 308 pounds, he is recognized for his technical proficiency and athleticism, particularly his quickness and agility in space. Fano has been remarkably durable and productive throughout his college career.

In 2025, he was a unanimous All-American and Outland Trophy winner. In 2024, he was 1st-team All-Big 12. In 2023, he was a freshman All-American.

Below is my excerpt on Fano:

Spencer Fano, OT (21)

Projected round 1. #12 on Daniel Jeremiah board Jan 27. Mocked to Lions at #17 by PFF.

Concern level 0/10

Fano has been very reliable in college. His position of RT at Utah works out just fine as I expect Penei Sewell to be moved to LT.
