Adding talent through the draft, especially on the defensive side of the ball, has been a strength for the Philadelphia Eagles as of late under general manager Howie Roseman.Â
The Eagles added two starting-caliber corners in the first two rounds of the 2024 draft in Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Both of those guys were named All-Pros in 2025. The Eagles also added linebacker Jihaad Campbell and safety Andrew Mukuba in the first two rounds last year, and both guys appear poised to take on big roles for the team.Â
This year, the Eagles will look to identify more talent that can come in and contribute immediately on defense, perhaps in the form of an edge rusher.Â
Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore named dream draft target for EaglesÂ
Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore was recently named the dream draft target for the Eagles this year by Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report.Â
Moore played four seasons at Michigan, and he helped the Wolverines win the National Championship in 2023. He was also named First-Team All-Big Ten in 2025 after recording 30 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.Â
From Davenport:Â
“If you have followed the Philadelphia Eagles at all in recent years, then you know that general manager Howie Roseman hoards defensive lineman like a squirrel filling a tree with nuts ahead of winter. … Stockpiling talent on the defensive line has served the Eagles well in the past. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”Â
Given the uncertainty about Jaelan Phillips’ future in Philadelphia, it would be logical for the Eagles to bolster the pass rush early in the draft. Plus, you can never really have too many edge rushers in today’s NFL.Â
As it stands, the Eagles will have eight selections in the ’26 draft, and all eight of those picks come in the first five rounds, so the Birds should have an opportunity to really stock up at several key positions of need, including edge rusher.Â
Roseman has earned the benefit of the doubt from Philly fans when it comes to his draft selections, so it will be exciting to see what he decides to do in April.Â
