The Cleveland Browns selected two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft in Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, but neither guy has necessarily solidified himself as the team’s quarterback of the future.

As a result, the Browns could look to add another signal-caller in the draft this year.

Miami quarterback Carson Beck named dream draft target for Browns

Miami quarterback Carson Beck was recently named the dream draft target for the Browns this year by Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report.

Beck is coming off of his senior season at Miami in which he threw for 3,813 yards and 30 touchdowns. He was named Third-team All-ACC as a result of his productive play.

“At this point, the Browns cannot assume they have their long-term answer at quarterback. With uncertainty around both Shedeur Sanders and Dillion Gabriel, the organization should keep investing draft capital at the position, taking swings in the middle rounds each year until a true franchise starter emerges,” Davenport wrote.

“Miami’s Carson Beck isn’t an especially high-ceiling prospect—if he was he wouldn’t be a Day 3 pick. But he’s an experienced and accurate quarterback who the Bleacher Report scouting staff comped to Jared Goff-lite.”

Given the state of their current quarterback depth, you couldn’t blame the Browns for wanting to take another swing, especially later in the draft, as they might want to use their earlier picks elsewhere.

The Browns will have a whopping 10 picks in the draft, including five in the final three rounds. If Beck, who is widely projected as a midround pick, is still around then, he could definitely be worth a flyer for Cleveland.
