The New York Jets have been undergoing major changes for the last year or so. With Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey coming to the Jets, a few top players have been dealt away.

Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner were traded at the 2025 deadline, and this offseason, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Jermaine Johnson, another 2022 first-rounder, was traded to the Tennessee Titans for nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat.

The pass rusher is leaving the Jets after four years, and in the wake of such a move, Johnson shared a heartfelt message with Jets fans on Twitter/x.

Jermaine Johnson shares heartfelt message with Jets fans after Titans trade

“New York, thank you for everything, truly,” Johnson writes. “The love I’ve been shown here for the past 4-5 years has been nothing short of amazing, both on and off the field. Y’all will always hold a special place in my heart. Wish all of my former coaches and former teammates the best!! Thank all of y’all for sharing a battlefield with me. 11 out.”

Johnson’s message is a very appreciative one for the fans, his former teammates, and coaches. This split, while a mild surprise based on the timing, did not end bitterly.

All things considered, it was an amicable split between the Jets and Johnson. He gets reunited with Robert Saleh, the coach who helped him turn into a Pro Bowler in 2023.

Johonson, in his four years with the Jets after being picked 26th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, played in 47 games, recording one interception (a 37-yard pick-six), nine passes defended, one forced fumbled and one fumble recovery.

The 27-year-old pass rusher finished his Jets four-year career with 13 sacks, 131 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 27 quarterback hits.

Johnson will, once the new league year begins, officially join the Titans organization, reunite with Saleh, and say goodbye to the Jets organization.

It might have gone as well as the Jets and Johnson would’ve hoped for; overall, it was a fine stint for Johnson in New York. He’s leaving amicably, sharing gratitude for the Jets and their fans as he heads down south to Tennessee.
