Two-time Super Bowl champion, vet linebacker, former Yahoo, colleague also.
love having Kyle hang out with us.
let’s talk about it, all right?
So you, you said you wanted somebody X’s and O’s to come in there for the Ravens organization.
Jesse Minter comes in, what, what was your first impression?
X’s and O’s, I think they hit a home run with that.
Jesse Minter is X’s and O’s.
He’s been top five, NFL defensive coordinator the last two years.
They hit it out the park with that.
I think they wanted to bring in because they wanted to sure up that defense back to when it was in ’23.
And let’s not act like ’24 was that bad either.

So last year, not up to the standard.
I will definitely tip the hat to everybody knowing who watched us.
We didn’t play up to the Baltimore Ravens standard, but Jesse Minter is gonna bring that defense back.
He’s gonna bring a fundamentally sound football team.
I think you’re gonna see a eerily similar team to the Seahawks.
They’re gonna wanna run the ball, they wanna run play action.
You know, Lamar being able to run with his leg is an added piece to that.
But defense, defense, defense, I think they’re gonna be heavy in the trenches this free agency, heavy in, in the o-line, during the draft and free agency, as well as the d- d-line.

I just see Jesse Minter coming in and establishing a culture, you know, the Ravens 2.0, kind of what it’s always been, but his kind of little recipe, his little changes, I e- I am excited to see what he does.
He has that same mindset that Mike McDonald has done in Seattle.
You know, came from that same system, the same split safety tree.
they feed off each other.
You can tell they run a very, very similar defense.
They do a lot of similar things, so that’s why I’m excited because that focus goes back to that ’23, and they’re gonna have to get guys on both sides of the trenches to really sure that up.

They need to have a better, o-line play to protect Lamar.
I mean, doesn’t matter for Derrick Henry, he’s gonna get them yards no matter what, but we need a better protection for Lamar, and we need better play, defensive line from us, too.
I mean, losing Nnamdi Asuahwalu was tough last year.
I hear your, your passion, and it sounds like love for the Ravens organization.
You’ve been in Baltimore for the last three seasons, but you’re a free agent this off-season.
Yeah.
Are you coming back to the NFL next year?
Do you want to come back to the NFL, and if so, where do you wanna be?
That’s a great- that’s a great question, too.

I mean, hon- honestly, I just love football.
I like talking football with anybody.
The passion’s there.
Ravens, though, I, I, d- I really love.
It starts with Mr. Bichotte.
I think he’s a hell of a owner.
and then throughout the front office, you guys got guys like, Mark Azevedo and Eric DeCosta, they’ve been really good to me.
And so the people behind the scenes, too.
Meg, who kind of runs the show behind the scenes, she is awesome.
You know, the people that work at the hub, which is the equipment staff, the trainers, Scott Elliott, who’s the strength coach, just people like that all over the building.

I just have so much love, and I love playing for those people, ’cause that’s what, what matters behind the scenes when you get to know people, and, you know, you’re able to, you know, help them get another check to when you get in the playoffs and you establish relationships like that, it means a lot.
And then to be living in the city, I lived in the city, and to represent that charm and that attitude of a city, there’s nothing but love with Baltimore.
