“Harris-Tavita was taken down heavily here and it will be a penalty,” Warren Smith said.
“He was hit in the air after the kick. Tom Starling got him above the shoulders on the jaw.”
Referee Adam Gee responded to strategic captain’s challenge from the Raiders.
“On field we have got a penalty for a late tackle, Raiders are challenging,” referee Gee said.
Cooper Cronk believes Tapine was just buying his team a breather.
“This is just a play from Tapine to get a rest for his team, this is a penalty every day of the week,” Cronk said.

“Starling left the ground and it was a poor kick from Harris-Tavita as well in the in-goal and Savage had it covered. Starling did not have to do this.”

“You jumped and it is high contact, on report and in the bin,” Gee said.
“Tom Starling goes to the sin bin, it is 13 on 12,” Smith said.
Cronk called Starling’s play a brain-fade, which would have had his coach fuming.
“I would love to listen to the internal monologue of Ricky Stuart right now,” Cronk said.
“Tom Starling that is a dumb play with the game on the line leaving the ground.”
The Raiders won the game 16-10, but Starling faces a suspension over the tackle and will be sweating on the match review committee.
