HUGHESVILLE, Md. — Southern Maryland football fans will have a chance to meet one of Washington’s Super Bowl champions when former Washington Redskins defensive tackle Darryl “The Wall” Grant appears at the Hughesville Bargain Barn Trading Card Show on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 8275 Old Leonardtown Road. Admission is free. Grant will sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with autographs priced at $10 each.
Grant played 10 seasons in Washington from 1981 to 1990, when the franchise was known as the Washington Redskins. The team retired the Redskins name in 2020 and rebranded as the Washington Commanders in 2022.
Nicknamed “The Wall,” Grant was part of the defensive line that powered Washington’s championship run in the 1980s. He appeared in 141 games and finished his career with 27 sacks and two interceptions. His best season came in 1984, when he recorded a career-high eight sacks.
One of the defining moments of Grant’s career came in the 1982 NFC Championship Game against the Dallas Cowboys, when he intercepted a pass and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown in Washington’s 31-17 victory, sending the team to the Super Bowl.
Grant was later named to Washington’s 90 Greatest Players of All Time list, recognizing his contributions during one of the franchise’s most successful eras.
The card show will feature more than 40 vendor tables offering trading cards, sports memorabilia, comics and diecast collectibles. The event is hosted by Primetime Sports Cards.

Hughesville Bargain Barn is housed inside a former tobacco warehouse built in 1939. The building now operates as a weekend flea market featuring more than 50 vendor spaces offering antiques, collectibles, furniture, toys, home décor and gifts. The market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
The March 7 card show is part of a growing lineup of specialty events at the venue. A Spring Toy & Comic Expo is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Hughesville Bargain Barn.
