Few would argue the Buffalo Bills need to upgrade the wide receiver position.

It became painfully obvious that the corps general manager Brandon Beane assembled — a group that includes Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Curtis Samuel, and Tyrell Shavers — simply isn’t good enough to compete with the other elite teams in the AFC.

So no one would likely blame them if they targeted a wide receiver early in the 2026 NFL draft.

Fortunately for Buffalo, the 2026 draft class is loaded with top-end WR talent.

Arizona State wideout Jordyn Tyson is considered by many to be the best or second-best WR on the board, which explains why the Bills were eager to meet with him at the 2026 NFL combine.

Tyson had some high praise for Bills quarterback Josh Allen, while also being complimentary of head coach Joe Brady.

“That would be amazing; that would be amazing. I would love it,” Tyson said of getting to play with Allen.

“(Brady is) really cool. He loves ball, for sure. He was trying to [stump] me on a couple of questions, but he didn’t get me.”

Knowing how highly Tyson thinks of them, the Bills could possibly eye a move up in the first round should he slip further than he’s projected to go, which right now, is in the 5-12 range.

Tyson has several elite traits, but if you ask him, the one he thinks is his best could also be advantageous for Buffalo to add to the mix of WRs it already has.

“Probably route running,” Tyson said of what his best quality is. “But I feel like my hands are elite, I feel my feel for the game is elite, but I would have to say my route running [is my best quality].”

Is Tyson a Realistic Option for the Bills?

The Bills are scheduled to pick 26th overall in April’s draft, and with several WR-needy teams picking ahead of them, the chances that Tyson falls to them are pretty slim.

However, if Tyson does slip out of the top 10, it wouldn’t be surprising for the Bills to pull the trigger on an aggressive trade up to go and get him.

In Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest mock draft, he has the Cleveland Browns (No. 6 overall), New Orleans Saints (No. 8 overall), and Baltimore Ravens (No. 14 overall) all taking receivers.

Kiper has the Browns grabbing Ohio State star Carnell Tate, the Saints taking USC pass-catcher Makai Lemon, and the Ravens snagging Tyson, leaving the Bills to settle for Washington receiver Denzel Boston.

Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion, Indiana’s Omar Cooper Jr., Alabama’s Germie Bernard, and Georgia’s Zachariah Branch all could also factor into the back half of the first round too.

The Bills have been linked to Concepcion by several draft analysts, and the team also met with Cooper Jr. at the combine as well.
