After a turbulent few seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Anthony Richardson is looking change course. The former No. 4 overall pick and his representation have expressed a desire to move on from the franchise that drafted him in 2023.

Reportedly, the organization shares Richardson’s wishes in wanting to reset its quarterback room after a series of unfortunate circumstances left them to call 40-year-old Phillip Rivers to start three games this year.

Inconsistency and injuries stained Richardson’s time with the Colts: the 6-foot-4-inch, 244-pound athlete played in just 17 games over three seasons during which time he threw eleven touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

After losing the starting nod to Daniel Jones following training camp, Richardson suffered an orbital bone fracture due to a resistance band accident in October. The injury ended his 2025 season and resulted in Rivers’ return.

Richardson declared for the NFL draft after his redshirt sophomore season with the Gators — a campaign where he started all twelve games and finished with 17 touchdowns to go along with 2,549 yards passing. A natural dual-threat, Richardson was second on the team in rushing touchdowns with nine.
