PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKOW) — A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows Pittsburgh Steelers fans in Pennsylvania are divided on the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

According to the poll, 51% of Steelers fans believe the team should find a new quarterback, while 32% say the team should keep Rodgers.

Overall, 40% of National Football League fans support replacing Rodgers, while 31% favor keeping him.

Brittani Webb, Ph.D., an assistant professor at Quinnipiac, said Rodgers “does not seem interested in stepping away from the NFL just yet, and the Steelers have expressed interest in re-signing him. Fans, on the other hand, are not showing that same level of confidence in the quarterback.”

Opinions also vary on the Steelers’ decision to hire Mike McCarthy as head coach. Forty percent of Steelers fans support the move, while 31% disagree.

Webb added, “While there is broad respect across the NFL for Super Bowl-winning coach Mike McCarthy, he still has a lot to prove to Steelers fans in this post-Mike Tomlin era.”
