The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.

The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.

Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.

Next up is tight end Josiah Deguara.

Josiah Deguara 2025 season

Deguara was signed to a one-year deal last offseason. He didn’t make the roster out of training camp but signed with the practice squad. He was elevated once early in the season in the six weeks he was on the practice squad, and then he was signed to the active roster in Week 7.

He played in 12 games and started twice. He had three catches for 21 yards and a touchdown in 84 offensive snaps.

He also played 170 snaps on special teams. He had four combined special teams tackles.

Josiah Deguara contract status

Deguara was signed only for one year, so he will be an unrestricted free agent when the new year begins on March 11.

Josiah Deguara offseason outlook

It is uncertain whether the Cardinals will want him back. He played well on special teams, but they have a new special teams coordinator and head coach. However, he started his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, where Cardinals offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett held the same position for the Deguara’s first two seasons.

Deguara is certainly no lock to return and he won’t likely be a priority, but we coudl see him back in 2026.
