The Miami Dolphins will be looking for a new quarterback this offseason, after they benched Tua Tagovailoa near the end of their 2025 campaign due to his poor performance (67.7% completion percentage, 2,660 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions).
While Miami could consider signing a top quarterback in free agency, they may be more inclined to take a prospect in the upcoming NFL draft. As evidence of that point, the Dolphins met with Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck at the 2026 NFL combine.
“I had a formal (meeting) with the Dolphins,” Beck said on Friday. “Honestly, I thought it went really well. Sometimes I think it’s kind of hard to read how the interviews go because you got 20 guys sitting around you nailing you with questions over and over again. Honestly, I just want to be myself in those interviews and let them know who I am, what I stand for and what I can bring to the table. Personally, I felt like it went well, but I honestly have no idea.”
Beck was a four-star recruit out of Mandarin High school in Jacksonville, Florida before spending five seasons at Georgia and ended his college career with one season at Miami.
In 55 games, Beck completed 69.5% of his passes for 11,725 yards, 88 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. He won two national championships as a backup and went to another a starter. He also earned All-Conference honors twice.

Currently projected to go in the third or fourth round of this year’s draft, Beck probably isn’t going to get taken as a starter, but he could be someone that Miami takes to compete for the job alongside Quinn Ewers and maybe a veteran from outside the building.
