Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady reportedly accused of being called a puppet of GM Brandon Beane by radio talk show host (Image via Getty: Joe Brady, Josh Allen, Brandon Beane) WGR 550’s The Jeremy and Joe Show host Jeremy White recently called Buffalo Bills’ newest head coach Joe Brady a puppet of general manager Brandon Beane, referencing Brady’s remarks during a recent interview. “Anytime Brady says exactly what Beane says, he’s going to be accused of just being a puppet. He’s going to be accused of being a yes man,” White said. This comment came after the NFL Scouting Combine interview, in which Brady reportedly blamed quarterback Josh Allen’s massive contract for the franchise’s lack of financial flexibility this offseason.
Joe Brady is sharing direct quotes from Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane
Beane has used Allen’s illustrious contract as an excuse for all the ill-advised moves made in recent seasons, like tight end Dawson Knox, for instance. The front office is considering restructuring his 2022 contract extension via a pay cut, something that would work for him and the team.Anyhow, Brady seems to be adopting this line of thought, but the radio talk show host says he should have his own ideas to share. “He has his own ideas, he has his own thoughts,” White said. “And as soon as he’s ready to tell us those thoughts that aren’t direct quotes from the GM, this one especially, about how you’re paying quarterback a lot of money, you have to make sacrifices: you sound like you are just saying what you’re supposed to say.”
Josh Allen is Buffalo Bills’ best contract
The host further shared the difference between “parroting” and “going against,” and voiced his strong opinion supporting the 29-year-old signal-caller: “Josh Allen is your best contract. He’s in the most important position. He’s paid well, but you get more than you could ever dream of on that investment based on how good he is.”Allen was a 2024 NFL MVP. And he recorded 25 passing touchdowns for 3,668 passing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns for 579 rushing yards, and he had only 10 interceptions in 17 games played for the 2025 season. He recorded a passer rating of 102.2 and earned a Pro Bowl selection, too. The four-time Pro Bowler turned out to be a dual-threat quarterback! So, for elite production like that, top-tier pay may be mandatory.
Joe Brady enters Buffalo after Sean McDermott’s departure
As for Brady adopting Beane’s words, he is new to the head coach position. And he’s arrived at the role after a long-tenured head coach in the form of the beloved Sean McDermott. So, he has big shoes to fill. And as for Brady agreeing with Beane, the Bills’ owner, Terry Pegula, once said at a press conference that drafting wide receiver Keon Coleman was all coaching staff’s decision, not Beane’s, because everyone seemed to blame the general manager for it. So, when the owner himself reportedly prefers the GM over the coaching staff, a new member entering their realm may act as a “parrot” or “puppet” to gain the owner’s good grades or just be in their good books! Just a speculation.
