The Philadelphia Eagles struck gold in the 2024 NFL draft when they selected cornerbacks with consecutive picks — Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell in the 1st round (No. 22 overall) and Iowa’s Cooper DeJean in the 2nd round (No. 40 overall).

With Mitchell and DeJean in the starting lineup as rookies in 2024, the Eagles won the Super Bowl. One year later, both players were NFL All-Pro selections for the 1st time following the 2025 season.

Now, with 1 more year before they’re eligible for contract extensions, Spotrac’s Michael Ginnitti predicts both players could reset the market at their positions.

While both contracts will make the 2 players very, very rich, the outcomes of those deals will have vastly different outcomes.

For DeJean, a slot cornerback, that means topping the 3-year, $40 million contract signed by Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon in April 2025. That should be fairly easy for the Eagles.

For Mitchell, it’s a little more complicated. Elite outside cornerbacks in the NFL are almost impossible to find. His deal would have to top the 4-year, $120.4 million contract signed by Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner — a deal that pays him approximately $30.1 million per year and came with $85.6 million in guaranteed money.

Mitchell and DeJean will both be eligible for their 1st contract extensions following the 2026 season. Mitchell is currently playing on a 4-year, $14.81 million contract. DeJean is playing on a 4-year, $9.28 million contract.

Mitchell & DeJean Kept All-Pro Standard for Eagles

The Eagles put 6 players on the NFL All-Pro Team in 2024 on the way to winning the second Super Bowl in franchise history.

The Eagles had 4 NFL All-Pro selections in 2023 and 6 in 2022, when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

“Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean have been named first team All Pro,” NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark wrote on X on Saturday, January 19. “Last Eagles CB to be first team All Pro — Lito Sheppard over 20 years ago This is just the third time in NFL history two teammates on one side of the ball have been drafted in the first two rounds and made first team All Pro within their first two years.”

Eagles Duo Already Earned Pro Bowl Nods

Mitchell and DeJean also earned Pro Bowl selections for the first time this season.

“Philadelphia Eagles cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, New England Patriots cornerback Christian GonzalezDallas Cowboys receiver George PickensMiami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane and a trio of Denver Broncos linemen are among the first-time Pro Bowl selections for the 2026 rosters, as announced by the league Tuesday,” The Athletic’s Jayna Bardahl wrote on December 23.

DeJean and Mitchell were 2 of 5 Eagles selected to the Pro Bowl along with inside linebacker Zack Baun, defensive tackle Jalen Carter and center Cam Jurgens. It’s the second consecutive Pro Bowl selection for Baun, Carter and Jurgens.

DeJean and Mitchell aren’t the only huge contracts the Eagles have on the horizon. Most notably, Carter, who earned NFL All-Pro honors in 2024, is eligible for his 1st contract extension this offseason.

“Entering year four, Eagles DT Jalen Carter is now contract extension eligible,” NFL reporter Chase Senior wrote on X. “Carter is projected to land a 4-year deal, worth between $120-$140 million, likely averaging more than $30 million per year. The DT market has taken off the last couple years.”
